Sky Burial is a funerary custom of Mongolia and Tibetan, DaLai put dead body in a specified place and feed vulture. They believe to do do that, dead people can go to the World of Ultimate Bliss ( Chinese paradise), same as inhumation, water burial and tree burial. They are a kind of belief, a way to "hope" dead people can be happiense after they went to another world. I think this culture comes from a story about Buddha. Oneday Buddha found a hawk, but it was almost die because it is too hungry, and Budda use kinfe cut a piece of meat from his arm and feed the Hawk, one hour each day. And Chinese has a belief in their heart, 'to do good and accumulate merit'. To do more charity and your future will be more happiness.
The emcee of Sky Burial will put the back of the dead body face to the sky, the emcee break legs and arms , and rive the skin, reveal muscle. Then vulture will coming and eat dead body, only the bone will left and the emcee triturate bone, and feed hawk again, another people will kowtow for a long time.
Buddism believe body is just a “body”, if the body was dead or broken, the spirit is still there.
