Doubtlessly, I can’t understand all the context of <Catcher in the Rye> after I finished the first page but I still can find some important information. At first Holden said we wanted to know his lousy childhood was like, and how parents were occupied and all before they had me. It showed that Holden is a pessimistic and very depress. Who thin k their childhood is lousy, I believe my childhood is wonderful and best in the world. Also he used “occupied” for describing his parents. That was so weird because we always say enemy occupied our city, in the first page, it seems like his parents was enemy who occupied Holden’s childhood. As we all know, parents will stop us doing something which we want to do because they think it is dangerous for us, they love us so they do that. Although they were the parents of Holden, he still hated them because they impade him doing things. Holden also expressed that he wouldn’t told us his goddam autobiography, it also proved that he was depressed.
After we knew the personality, we need to analyze the point of view, we could find out that it was first person which mean Holden was telling us a story about himself.
